About the Author
C.M. Sullivan (she/her) is a queer American author with Irish roots born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri. A lifelong fiction writer, she received her bachelor’s degrees from Creighton University in English and journalism with a focus on American literature and creative writing, and her master’s degree in English from Creighton with a research focus on Southern gothic literature. She is a graduate of two professional speculative writing workshops, Viable Paradise 2025 and Taos Toolbox 2024, and a recipient of a Poet & Author Fellowship from the Martha’s Vineyard Institute for Creative Writing. She has stories published in The Daily Tomorrow and forthcoming in Apex Magazine. She is a first reader for Apex, a SFWA Associate, and an active member of Codex.
Sullivan writes high fantasy novels about unlikely heroes facing cosmic odds, mean lesbians, and usually at least one horrifying eldritch deity. She delights in writing speculative short fiction that’s weird and mythical with an emotional core. She spends a lot of her free time lurking in libraries, photographing abandoned buildings, and herding her cats, Rowan and Ophelia.
She is currently drafting her second (and hopefully debut) adult novel.
